A Real Delorean?

The hubs and I were enjoying a fabulous, delicious, carb filled lunch on Sunday when I asked him a very simple question: if you could go back in time, would you? And when would you go? [Alright, I know that is technically two questions, but stay with me here.] The hubs looked at me, made a face and said he had no desire to travel anywhere. Ever. Not one single event in history made his list.

I don't know if it is the history nerd in me or just the out and out nerd in me, but I was baffled [and a little bit heart broken] that my nerdy husband had the least bit of desire to travel through time! Whenever I was asked about having a super power my answer was always either flying [because seriously, how awesome would that be?] and time travel. Who wouldn't want to see the signing of the declaration of independence? Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream speech live? Lincoln's Gettysburg address? On top of all of these events I also would go see my favorite singer Aaliyah in concert before she died. I would try to maintain a Doc Brown philosophy and not interfere with the events and simply enjoy the blessing of being able to witness some awesome events in person!

Am I alone here? Does no one else have a desire to travel to their favorite moment in history? Relive a great moment from their past? Anything?

  1. Louis CK says that as a white person, you can time travel back to anytime and it'll be awesome. As a brown guy...not so much.
